Help with Heart –Founding
an Association
Themed as „Help with Heart” the former nurse
Petra Müller and her husband Helmut, comming from Königslutter, went off to
Kilifi, Kenya,
to found a Childrens’s Aid Project.
The Müller family has been traveling to Kenya for many
years. They happened to go to Msumarini/Mombasa in 2003 where there they met
some orphans, whose parents had lost their lives in a bomb attack carried out
by Islamic fundamentalists.
Petra Müller decided to involve herself in
solving the problems of the children and to find a solution. Her
husband and herself first bougth clothing, meals and matrasses. But
unfortunately, this didn’t meet all the childrens’ needs in the long run.
They meant to do more.
After having returned from Keney they founded
the non-profit making charity association “Saida-Kawa-Moyo
Kinderhilfsprojekt-Kenya e.V.”
Their ambition:
To provide the children with a home, an eduction
and a future to live for.
Help with Heart – Where do the
Donations go to
When the Müllers returned to Kenya once more in 2004 they rented a house in
Kilifi about 50 km north of Mombasa
The house had been renovated and furnished with
beds and furniture made by themselves. A huge covered sit-in area outside combined
with a kitchen was been put up with tables and benches in it
this was the initial step
Meanwhile a great
deal has happened:
§ 28 children have a home now
§ the school-age children of are attending school
§ all children are examined by a doctor regularily
§ 6 qualified and commited local employees take care of
the children
§
he Association has developed a finanicially
affordable concept for a new building with facilities for training.

help
Godparenthood for a child
By making regular contributions you secure the
child’s support, medical care and the chance to get a proper education.
One-off Donation
By all means, one-off donations are more than
welcome.
Membership
Being a member means you are supporting all
children at the orphanage both in Kilifi as well as the other associated social
facilities.
Gift-Membership
You are not only giving the children the chance
of a better life through your monthly donation, but at the same time you will
give great pleasure to a relative, friend or buisinesspartner.
To bequeath
Anybody who intends to achieve something good even
on his death and is not certain as what to do with his estate is most wellcome
to support the institute by mentioning the Children Support Project in his will.
Each donation benefits the institution
100 per cent.
The future plans
for the Saidia-kwa Moyo Children’s Aid Project
A plot of 4000 qm opposite to the present leased
property was purchased. In addition to the new orphanage living quarters
workshops for different working- and training fields will be provided.
Besides, it is supposed to have workshops for

the metal processing
§
bicycle repair
§
textile processing / tailoring
§
and the contact with EDP systems.
Help to Self-Help
The main street directly alongside the property leads
to the beach. Therefore Petra Müller has decided to integrate a store into the
complex of buildings in which products should be distributed both to locals as
well as tourists.
There is a demand for it as there is only one
small supermarket in the village center.
The turnover will in turn be of benefit for the
orphanage and help to make the child home financially independent.
In this manner Petra Müller sees
her vision of “Help with Heart” to be achieved and also wishes for the future
that
“Your donation lives”.
